Easy Betty: Taco Seasoning
One of my favorite summer meals on a hot day is tacos with cold beer. I'm not going to insult your intelligence by explaining how to make tacos, I promise. But I am going to suggest an easy way to skip out on buying those little packages of taco seasoning for your fiesta. Ever look on the ingredient label? Its all stuff you probably already have, so why not combine them in an empty shaker and cross "taco seasoning" off your grocery list forever.
I use a funnel on the top of an empty seasoning bottle and add equal parts of the following ingredients:
salt
pepper
onion powder
garlic powder
paprika
cumin
chili flakes
and two parts chili powder
Put the lid on and shake it, Baby. Another nice thing about having it in a shaker is you can add it to other stuff-like popcorn-if you've got the yen for taco popcorn.
whew! hard stuff...time for a beer
