Repurposed Pots and Pans

Are you familiar with "curb alerts" on craigslist? Someone posts that they are leaving junk on their curb for you to rifle through and take and all you have to do is show up. It's brilliant! AND the very best part (for me) is that I don't have to go out and get this said junk at all-I send my man.
On one particular curb alert, Mr. Devilin was able to score some cute little enamelware pans. I originally had them hanging on my wall but, having recently moved to a smaller kitchen (and wow isn't that the wrong direction to evolve), said pots and pans were stacked on a shelf.
And then spring hit....
I have been meaning to try growing some patio tomatoes for a while and my parents were generous enough to bring all the necessary supplies with them on a recent visit. Sprouting the seeds was easy enough and I would need to pot them soon. That's when i thought of the enamelware on the shelf.
Mr. Devilin drilled some holes around the bottom with a ceramic bit tip and I "borrowed" some of the lesser-loved rocks from my daughter's rock collection (oh please! she's singlehandedly causing erosion at her school, the collection is so big!). Anywho, the rocks went into the bottom of the pot to help water drainage and I filled them up with soil and tomato seedlings.
I'm pretty happy with the results and, so far, they are growing nicely on my back deck.
