Baby Blanket Re-Do

Fall is upon us. Which in the South means rain. And with kids, rain means mud. On everything.

Which got me thinking about how I could keep the blanket I use in the stroller with Thing 2 from constantly ending up under the wheels, in the mud.

where's this blanket going?
nowhere.

I worked a couple of prototypes in my mind but nothing seemed entirely right. Somewhere around 3 am the lightbulb finally went on and I realized I was overthinking the solution (metaphor for life much?).

not the nicest button
holes, I admit
So I took the blanket I use most often in the stroller and marked the center with some straight pins.

Next, I sewed two extra large button holes on each side of dead center.

After cutting the button holes open, I slipped the blanket onto the seat belt of the stroller.

Now, when Thing 2 is in the stroller, she has the benefits of the blanket without the freedom of expression to toss it into the mud below. I'm a benevolent dictator.

  1. Cool idea! I will add this to my list of reasons why I need to get my sewing machine down from the top shelf of my closet.
